Levitra Is the Next Step after Viagra
Vardenafil is a phosphodiesterase inhibitor or simply saying the drug that treats erectile dysfunction. It is the second drug of this kind after Viagra. It is sold on the market as Levitra, but in some countries, for example, in Italy, people can come across Vivanza which is the same drug with different name.
At first psychological factor was blamed for erectile dysfunction, but drugs like Levitra have proven that in many cases physical problems are the main reason for the trouble. Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and even old age can be the reasons for men’s weakness, but Levitra helps by relaxing muscles and increasing blood flow into the penis.
If taken only when needed the drug allows to achieve erection within 30-60 minutes. The advantage of Levitra over its predecessor Viagra is that there is no restricted time frame: Levitra works for ten or twelve hours; this fact helps to act naturally, without rush or clock watching.
Unfortunately for men, Levitra does not cure the problem. It works together with sexual stimulation, but after several hours it wears out and the person has to take another pill if he is ready to more sex. The drug does not make one want sex, this is the job of aphrodisiacs, Levitra only helps to achieve erection when it is needed.
This medication is an FDA-approved oral prescription medication, so before buying it the patient should visit the doctor, fill in the form and answer a lot of questions. The doctor should be aware of the patient’s medical history before prescribing Levitra. The person should inform the doctor if he had angina, heart failure, irregular heartbeats, heart attack, problems with blood pressure, and liver or kidney diseases.
After considering all the aspects the doctor will prescribe Levitra with the detailed instructions of the drug dosage: it depends on age, medical conditions one may have, medications the patient is currently taking. It is strongly recommended to stay with the dosage without changing it.
As a rule they recommend to start the treatment with 10 mg pill of Levitra one hour prior sexual activity. After the first try the patient should watch how well the medication works on him. If there are problems or unpleasant side effects the doctor can increase or decrease the dosage. The minimum dose of the drug can be as little as 2.5 mg for patients over 65 years old and for people who take certain medications or have moderate or severe liver problems.
The Levitra side-effects are very common for this type of drugs: headache, flushing, stuffy nose, upset stomach, dizziness. The patients are advised to get immediate medical help if the erection lasts for more than four hours or color vision changes. There have been a few other side-effects noticed, but so far it has not been proven that the problem was caused by Levitra.
